White Coat Wisdom goes virtual
Join us for one or all this fall to boost your career
White Coat Wisdom is evolving into a webinar series to make this valuable content more accessible. We're pivoting from a single in-person event to a series of one-hour evening webinars featuring expert guidance on financial readiness, career planning, artificial intelligence in medicine, medical liability, and physician advocacy.
Each session will be held from 7-8 p.m. and recorded for on-demand viewing, so you can participate live or watch later at your convenience. We invite all CMS members to join us, especially medical students, residents and early-career physicians. Plan to attend the sessions most relevant to you or attend the entire series to gain practical insights for every stage of your physician journey.
The first session will be held next Wednesday, Oct. 28: Financial Readiness for Early-Career Physicians.
Register for an upcoming listening session with Sean Pauzauskie, MD
Have a question, concern or idea you'd like to share with CMS leadership? All are invited to join CMS President Sean Pauzauskie, MD, for a weekly Member Listening Session. These informal virtual conversations are an opportunity to discuss challenges in your practice, provide feedback, share what's on your mind, or simply hear what fellow physicians are talking about. Sessions are held each Tuesday from 5-5:30 p.m., and you can join by video or phone, whether you're wrapping up your day, commuting or between commitments. An upcoming listening session especially for component society or specialty society presidents or Board members is in the works.
Registration is required for each session. Bring your questions, your ideas, or just listen in.

A free guide to contract review from Panacea Financial, a CMS Partner in Medicine
Many physicians will be reviewing employment contracts in the coming months, especially those preparing to transition into practice for the first time. Whether it’s your first contract or your next, it’s important to understand exactly what you’re agreeing to before you sign. Terms that seem routine today can create challenges later when your career goals or circumstances change.
To help physicians navigate the process, Panacea Financial’s legal team has created A Doctor’s Guide to Contract Review. This free resource covers the contract provisions that have the greatest impact on your employment, common red flags, key negotiation questions, and the advantages and disadvantages of reviewing a contract on your own.
The Colorado Medical Society's signature event was a powerful reminder of what happens when Colorado physicians come together
Attendees spent the weekend reconnecting with colleagues, exchanging ideas, and tackling some of the biggest issues facing medicine today. The meeting opened with an unforgettable presentation from Tracee Metcalfe, MD, a Vail physician and world-class mountaineer, who shared lessons from a lifetime of climbing some of the world's most challenging peaks and the resilience required to keep moving forward on the mountain and in life.
From thought-provoking discussions on AI, physician wellbeing, public trust, leadership, and advocacy to countless conversations in hallways, over meals, and between sessions, the energy throughout the weekend was unmistakable. We also celebrated a leadership transition as Brigitta Robinson, MD, FACS, passed the CMS presidential gavel to Sean Pauzauskie, MD.
The weekend concluded with former U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams, MD, whose insights on public health and physician leadership left attendees inspired about the role physicians can play in shaping the future. Save the date for the 2027 Annual Meeting, Sept. 17-18 in Breckenridge!
